Today Sega released a new summary of its performance for the fiscal year ended in March 2018, also including its business strategy for the current fiscal year. It included several tidbits that weren’t mentioned in the financial results announcement released last week.

First of all, we get an update about the shipments of Persona 5, which were 2.2 million copies worldwide by March 31st. 2018. Apparently, 200,000 units were sold since November’s announcement.

We also learn that Sonic Mania, Sonic Forces, and the Total War series “performed strongly” during the past fiscal year.

On top of that, “new titles” are in development for the Sonic franchise, while Yakuza Online for PC and mobile will launch before the end of the fiscal year, which means by March 31st, 2019. Shin Megami Tensei V for Nintendo Switch is mentioned as “in pipeline” so a release by March 31st is not confirmed for the moment. The same is mentioned about the recently-revealed new IP by the Yakuza Studio, but at least we get a further confirmation of its development.

VanillaWare’s 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim is confirmed for 2018, even if we haven’t heard much about it as of late.

If you’re not familiar with Persona 5, you can read our review. You can also grab a copy on Amazon. We even talked extensively about its success in the latest episode of our Weebcast.
