Today Nintendo updated its lifetime shipment totals for Switch and 3DS to March 31st, 2018, and the past three months have seen a lot of units of the new console reaching the shelves worldwide.

As you can see in the infographic below, lifetime shipments for the Switch reached 17.79 million as of March 31st. In the meanwhile, its older 3DS sibling reached 72.53 million units shipped.

This means that the Switch shipped 2.93 million units in the first three months of 2018, and 15.05 million units during the past fiscal year. Interestingly, the manufacturer’s forecast was quite spot on, and actual shipment exceeded it by 50,000 units.

The numbers for the Switch are definitely impressive considering that they have been achieved in little more than a year since its launch on March 3rd, 2017.
