Yesterday, Call of Duty’s official Twitter account teased that a brand new event would be coming to Call of Duty: WWII and now we know all the details. Today, developer Sledgehammer Games and publisher Activision revealed The Blitzkrieg Community Event in its entirety, and as expected, it adds a ton of new content.

First and foremost, as revealed last week, Ground War has officially been added and be played on medium and large-sized maps, as well as all War mode maps. In addition to that, a new map titled HQ has been added, which is quite literally just the Headquarters, however it is really nice to be getting new play areas for free. The map has its own playlist and is only playable in Free-for-All, Gun Game, and Prop Hunt.

In addition to that, players also have six brand new weapons to wield: the 4-round burst ITRA Burst rifle, the semi-auto Type 5 rifle, the full-auto M2 Carbine rifle, the Sterling SMG, the bolt action Type 38 sniper rifle, and the Baseball bat melee weapon. All of these can weapons can be obtained by supply drops, however, only the ITRA Burst, Sterling, and Baseball bat can be earned via weapon collections.

To celebrate the start of the Blitzkrieg event, the developer also released a brand new trailer, which shows off all the free content players will be getting. You can check it out at the end of the article.

Call of Duty: WWII was originally released last year and is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC. If you want to pick up the game on Amazon, you can do so by clicking here.
