The V-Rally series of off-road racing games, developed by Eden Games and published by Infogrames Multimedia, was quite popular in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s, but has unfortunately not seen a new entry since V-Rally 3 released on PC, PS2, Xbox, and GameCube throughout 2002 and 2003. That changed today though, as Bigben Interactive, Kylotonn Racing Games, and Maximum Games have announced V-Rally 4.

V-Rally 4 will release on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, and will launch sometime in September. If this partnership of developers and publishers seems familiar, that is because they have previously worked together on the WRC and TT Isle of Man series together.

The developers plan to remain faithful to the earlier titles in the series, balancing spectacle and simulation while also making the series look better than it ever has. V-Rally 4 is set to include over 50 different kinds vehicles, like the Porsche 911 Safari, a Ford Mustang and a Ford Fiesta RS RX, that players can customize and upgrade.

Five different types of tracks – Rally, Extreme-Khana, V-Rally Cross, Buggy, and Hillclimb – will be available in the final game in both the Career and Online modes. Alain Jarniou, the Game Director at Kylotonn who has previously worked on the V-Rally series, said the following about reviving the franchise with V-Rally 4:

“It’s a real privilege for me to once again work on the V-Rally series. It’s an extraordinary title that I have a very special connection to. I had a chance to join the team that created V-Rally to develop V-Rally 3 on the PlayStation 2 as a programmer. I’m very proud to be working on the franchise again 15 years later.”

You can check out some screenshots and the announcement trailer below. V-Rally 4 will release on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch this September.
