Dragon Quest Builders, News, Originals, Platforms, PS Vita, PS3, PS4, Square-Enix, Switch

Dragon Quest Builders proved to be quite an intriguing title upon its release last year, splicing together elements of both Minecraft and the Dragon Quest (or Dragon Warrior for you old-school fans) series, to create something unique. The game was confirmed to be coming to Nintendo Switch in September, and today, both the European and North American Nintendo Twitter accounts confirmed that the game will be releasing in the west on February 9, 2018.

This is actually almost a month before the recently announced Japanese release date of March 1. The Japanese version is set to retail for 4,800 yen, which equates to roughly $42. We currently do not know what the price of Dragon Quest Builders will be in North America or Europe. A free demo is also being released on February 1 in Japan, and there is currently no confirmation of that. DualShockers’ will be sure to let you know if we hear more about those things.

Outside of the game’s inherent portability and support for a wide variety of controllers, the Nintendo Switch version of the game also comes with the exclusive Great Sabrecub which will boost the players’ speed and grant them special material when they defeat enemies. Dragon Quest Builders is currently available on PS3, PS4, and PS Vita, and will be releasing on Nintendo Switch on February 9. If you want to read DualShockers’ thoughts on the game, you can check out our review of the PS4 version.
