Today, Deck13 and Focus Home Interactive announced an upcoming expansion for The Surge, a Souls-like game which launched back in May to decent reviews. The expansion is called The Surge: A Walk in the Park, and as the title suggests, this expansion brings the action to a theme park. A Walk in the Park is expected to release sometime in early December, alongside The Surge: Complete Edition.

A Walk in the Park’s new environment is more open and colorful than the grim factories the populate the base game, though it isn’t any less deadly. CREO World, where the expansion takes place, was an amusement park by CREO, a company that those who played The Surge will recognize, for its workers and their families. Unfortunately, the park was not spared when everything went wrong, as the rescue teams stationed there went insane, and CREO World’s robotic mascots walk around freely and are prepared to kill on site.

Outside of this new location, The Surge: A Walk in the Park adds new enemies, a new boss, sixteen new weapons, sets of armor, and implants. For those who don’t own the base game and have tried out the free demo but not yet purchased, Focus Home Interactive plans on releasing The Surge: Complete Edition at the same time as the expansion, which should give players access to both The Surge. and the A Walk in the Park expansion.

You can check out some screenshots from the expansion below. The Surge: A Walk in the Park and The Surge: Complete Editon expected to hit PC, PS4, and Xbox One sometime in early December; the base game is available on those same platforms.
